Choosing The Essential Makita Garden Tools

This article will discuss some of the new products in 2022 and what’s coming up.
New Makita Battery Backpack

This is something different that could be an essential accessory for cordless landscapers. Makita’s brand new battery backpack has a capacity of four batteries and allows you to use your tools for hours without needing to recharge. The backpack can supply either an 18v or 36v power source. It is compatible with single or dual battery machines. Power is provided through the “umbilical cable” that runs from the backpack to the tool. The pack holds four 6ah batteries and has a huge 24ah capacity. This should allow landscapers to do a decent amount of work before they need to refill. This weight can be spread across your back to reduce fatigue and strain when you use handheld tools such as hedge trimmers.

New Makita Garden Tools 2022: Grass Trimmers

Makita’s new generation of grass trimmers has undergone a significant improvement in their operation, with many new features and hardware upgrades. The classic Loop handle and Offset bike handle configurations are available for long-lasting use. Although the shape of the tool is the same as the previous generation, it’s what’s underneath that has seen major improvements.

The new brushless motors are encased within cast aluminium housings, and are more efficient than their predecessors. They promise greater power, a higher cutting speed, and longer run times with the Direct Drive System. Automatic Torque Drive Technology continuously monitors what you are cutting and adjusts to give higher torque and lower speeds when cutting through dense material. It also adapts to provide lower torque and higher speed in lower density situations. This is combined with the Automatic Feedback Sensing Technology. If the material becomes too dense, which can cause the tool’s to stall, then the Torque limiter will shut down the motor to reduce internal stress. This will ensure that your grass trimmer lasts longer.

The Control Panel has been updated to give users all the controls they need to make sure their cutting experience is customized to their needs. You will find an operation mode switch on the panel, which allows you to change the type of cutting blade and has the settings automatically adjusted for your work situation – triple plastic blade head or nylon cord. A reverse switch is located on the panel to remove any cuttings that have become entangled.

New Makita Garden Tools 2022: Lawnmowers

The new Makita mowers are available in Push or Self-propelled versions. Most of them have brushless motors housed in cast aluminium housings. You can expect high operating efficiency, constant speed control, and consistent cutting. This will allow you to cover more distance per charge. These mowers require 36v power. They have a dual or quad battery capability. The advantage of larger battery bays is that you can fully load the mower and continue without interruption until the battery runs out. Makita claims that the DLM533 can cover approximately 2000m2 with four fully charged BL1860B (6.8ah) batteries. This equates to about 40 minutes of continuous running time. For areas greater than 1700m2, switching to Self-Propelled mode will give you approximately 30 minutes of continuous runtime.

Many battery-powered mowers are preferred in noisy environments. Several new models offer a Quiet Mode, which reduces the impact on the environment.

New Makita Garden Tools 2022: Chainsaws

Makita’s new 36v chainsaws can run on two 18v LXT battery simultaneously. They are powerful but have a Torque Boost control that allows you to increase the power when needed. The battery will last longer if you switch to standard mode for lighter-duty applications. These new machines also have energy-efficient brushless motors to prolong their runtime.

New Makita Garden Tools 2022: Hedge Trimmers

Makita’s upcoming hedge trimmers are very interesting. The DUH604 & DUH754 have front and rear handles that are perpendicular with the body. (Think bicycle pedals, if you don’t get it). The rear handle also has what Makita calls a Shark Fin Power Switch and a lock-off lever. The DUH604 comes with a 600mm blade while the 754 has a 750mm blade. Both are single-sided and use a double reciprocating action.

The hedge trimmers, like the other cordless tools at the event, will work well with the new battery backpack. This will allow you to cut more hedges per charge, but not add weight.

Pressure washers

Makita isn’t well-known for their pressure washers, but they do have a small number of corded electric models in their catalog. We were shown a prototype of a 36v cordless model that runs on two 18v battery packs. It appears they intend to expand this range. There have been quite a few of these machines on the market in recent years. While they are significantly less powerful than traditional petrol or mains machines, they are much more portable and better suited for light cleaning tasks. The Makita is undoubtedly the most powerful cordless washer yet. It has a maximum pressure of 80 bar and a flow rate of 330 litres an hour. We will be interested to see how it compares to the rest of the market once it goes into production.
