Hello and welcome to live coverage of Chelsea vs Wolves from Stamford Bridge.
It is the start of another new era at Chelsea as Thomas Tuchel takes charge following the sacking of Frank Lampard on Tuesday, which was exclusively revealed by Telegraph Sport.
Tuchel, who was axed by Paris Saint Germain in December just four months after taking them to the 2020 Champions League final, is highly regarded for his coaching and he will need to make a fast start to lift the mood around the club after five defeats in their last eight Premier League games.
The German might consider himself fortunate there are no fans in the ground tonight, given the amount of adoration and respect Lampard has among the supporters.
But they are no strangers to new managers taking charge at Chelsea and Tuchel, who signed an initial 18-month deal, could easily depart if results don’t improve.
Among the options available to Tuchel are three Germany internationals in Antonio Rudiger, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner.
According to our very own, Matt Law, Tuchel is a big fan of Rudiger and after the defender has spent much of the season on the sidelines, he could be thrust into more action under the new manager.
When the two sides met in December, Wolves came from behind to win 2-1 at Molineux, courtesy of a late stoppage-time winner from Pedro Neto. With Raul Jimenez still out injured, much depends on Neto and Daniel Podence to provide Wolves’ attacking edge.
January signing Willian Jose could make his debut while teenage striker Fabio Silva will be hoping for another chance to impress for Wolves, who are 14th with 22 points from 19 games this season.
